As a 6/2 Human Design profile, you have a unique perspective and energy that can be a powerful asset in your marketing – if you lean into it. The traditional marketing playbook doesn’t always align with the 6/2 way of being.
The reason for it is quite simple. And energetically, the 6 line doesn’t have a need to inspire or impress anyone, and as well as the 2nd line, it is just happy hermitting in its own process. So when it comes to marketing, and the need to “put yourself out there”, it is not something that’s very natural to a 6/2 – and very often that shows in a real struggle to understand how to market a 6/2 business.
Finding Your Marketing Flow
What I often see in my 6/2 profile clients who have not yet figured out their own unique pass is that they attempt to blindly copy some of the successful coaches in their niches. “If she/he can do it, I can do that too,” right?
The problem without approach is that whenever we see anyone who is doing well, that just means that they figured out what works for THEM. And if they are a business and marketing coach (or if they target those who want to improve their marketing), they will then start telling others that that is “the way”…
And a 6/2 who, figuratively speaking, has not a marketing bone in their body (until they figure out their own power moves) blindly buys into that.
But it is a trap. Replicating exactly what others do, regardless of how much effort you put into it, is not a guarantee that it’s going to work for YOU, your business, your audience, and of course, your unique energy. Most of the time, it simply doesn’t.
And because both of these two lines are not really designed for classic marketing, a 6/2 profile can often try strategies and tactics that are just completely disconnected with who they are, creating a very disjointed visibility, and of course, struggling to attract clients because of that.
When we follow someone, and we get so excited that we want to invest in working with them, it is because we’re sensing their FLOW.
With the 6/2 profile, the second line of the body, when it’s aligned within itself, brings the frequency of flow into its marketing, its visibility. It’s a natural quality of a second body line: a frequency of flow when aligned, and a staccato-like, disjointed chaos when misaligned.
And that chaos is exactly what I spot in a 6/2 marketing that is struggling. It is in their frequency, and everyone in the audience subconsciously feels it, too. Hence, no clients come from it.
How to market as a 6/2 Human Design Profile
So my first advice to a 6/2 profile client would be to erase everything they know and think about marketing, and to focus on self-expression rather than vanity metrics or rigid, process-oriented strategies.
Focus on creating content that reflects your authentic self. Both of your profile lines are hear to embody the authenticity of who you are.
The 6 line, by being true to themselves, the highest version of themselves, conditions those in the world around them because that alignment is contagious. This is why that line is called a Role Model. The role model doesn’t tell others what to do. It’s just being something others want to be; it’s embodying something others want to embody; and it’s empowering others to be their authentic selves.
Line 2 is also here to focus on the creative process, not to “go and find the audience” for its process. The only requirement for successful marketing is that the process, whether it’s the actual doing or a thought process, is SHARED.
Seth Godin wrote an amazing book that I consider my solopreneur “Bible”. It is called “The Practice. Shipping Creative Work,” and it starts with the following: Trust Your Self.
And I’m using the next few lines of an opening in my upcoming book because when I read that, I had goosebumps all over my body:
“Shipping, because it doesn’t count if you don’t share it.
Creative, because you’re not a cog in the system. You are a creator, a problem solver, a generous leader who is making things better by producing a new way forward.
Work, because it’s not a hobby. You might not get paid for it, not today. But you approach it as a professional. The muse is not the point, excuses are avoided, and the work is why you were here.”
These words are true for all of us entrepreneurs and creatives, but I feel this is so poignant for the 6/2 profile to embrace as a core of their definition of what marketing is. It is simply sharing their creative work.
Integrity & Embodyment
If your words and actions don’t align, your audience will notice. Trying to promote an idea you haven’t embodied, or teaching something you haven’t fully understood, creates a disconnect that people can sense. So stick to what you know, which actually is so much better anyway, because you can share what YOU see. You do not have to be perfect in your content.
Instead, it’s about sharing messages rooted in your genuine vision, whether gained through personal experience, careful observation, or deep insight. When you do this, your message carries real impact.
How? Storytelling. Share your personal stories, case studies, opinions, insights, and experiences. This is where you’ll truly shine and build meaningful connections with your audience. Do not focus on the audience or what they need to hear. Do not tell them what to do. Share what you see, what you sense, and evaluate out loud what is happening within the area of your expertise.
And add a clear Call to Action (CTA) to direct them where they can take the first step into your funnels, whether it is an email list through a very valuable freebie that serves as a taster of what you do, or a lower-cost introductory offer, like a strategy call, or a paid discovery call. These nuances are dictated by how YOU want to structure your business.
I also find that the 6/2 CTAs that do not try to “convince” are more powerful. When they are added as a matter of fact, as an invitation, almost.
Do Not Overcomplicate Your Marketing
Be selective about your marketing activities. Avoid feeling obligated to show up on every social media platform. Avoid building complex funnels you do not understand OR, frankly, need.
Instead, choose 1-2 channels where you can consistently show up in a way that energizes you. Maybe that’s long-form written content, or intimate YouTube messages for your community.
Redefine what consistency means to YOU
This could be very different based on your unique design, but do not think the Human Design reading will tell you exactly how many times or when to post on social, or publish a blog article. Those details are up to YOU, but you need to find the sweet spot between being disciplined enough to dedicate consistent time to your business and marketing AND staying in the flow – so that you bring that flow through everything you put out there.
And another question that often comes up is what to post about?
PAUSE! I once read that in many 6/2s biggest business breakthroughs happen after a pause. Which makes so much sense with a 2nd line body. Block days where you do not have client calls, so you can write or record videos. Take a day off when feel pressurized, book a weekend retreat to run away and restore. These pauses are a must – see them as a springboard into the next level.
As a 6/2, you have a natural tendency to observe, integrate, and then share your wisdom. Trust this process. Prioritize quality over quantity. Go deep with your audience, build real relationships, and let your unique voice be the guiding light. The surface-level visibility is not for you. Share your thinking process, share your vision, share the possibilities you see ahead.
I also want to talk about the audience growth. The 6/2 path to marketing success isn’t about broad reach or audience size. Again, it is about quality over quantity – and this is what sharing in depth naturally creates: a loyal following of the right people who are truly aligned with you and your work.
My darling 6/2, if you would like further guidance, book your Aligned To Be Seen Experience™ below, and let’s dive into what this means for you in the context of your business, what you have tried, and what is missing. I cannot wait to guide you.
