PERSONAL BRANDING RULE #1: BUILD IT AND ENGAGE!
YOUR PERSONAL BRAND IS WHERE THE MONEY IS (with one condition)
As I speak to so many seasoned entrepreneurs from different business backgrounds and industries, I see one HUGE piece of the puzzle missing from their understanding of social media and how building their personal brand THE RIGHT WAY can create serious opportunities and a much more enjoyable way they are PERCEIVED by people they connect to here.
When it comes to coaches, here is a hard fact – it is impossible to build your business any other way, but to show up as who you are – and attract people to WHO YOU ARE.
People will hire a coach because they need a personal guide to help them through the issues they are experiencing or to help them overcome the block and breakthrough to the “next level” of whatever it is they desire.
And while coaching business is a BUSINESS, it is a different kind of business than, say construction/insurance/property investment – you get my idea. People work with people, so they choose to do business with you – for personal reasons!
Any business where the customers deal directly with you face to face is a PERSONAL BRAND-focused business. They come to YOU and not someone else doing the same thing because they like and trust YOU.
This is why it always pays off to work on overcoming resistance to building visibility with your face as the front of your business. But let’s address the next stage – HOW to do it correctly.
IT TAKES TIME – and in the beginning, it may feel like nothing is happening. Kind of like if you seed a plant, it settles in the ground, gives roots, and then the shoots start coming out. But not straight away. Sometimes it takes weeks. In business, this translates to years sometimes. This is why most new businesses close in the first 2 years. It takes time… no shortcuts.
But most coaches who start promoting themselves on Facebook do not think realistically or fall victims to the online marketing noise believing it is possible to get successful quickly!
But what they face is the sound of crickets and not many or no at all clients! And yet they try to find the reason for it elsewhere!

Social media is nothing but a selection of tools.
Tech.
A variety of platforms that can be used very strategically to your advantage or just a bunch of crowded spaces that suck your brain out. The choice is yours!
Networking on Social Media becomes so much more genuine and effective when you are connecting to people as YOU – your Personal Brand is the best selling tool, but the trick here is playing by the rules.
RULE #1: BUILD IT AND ENGAGE!
Just talking AT people is a losing game. (Unless you know what makes you attractive)
They don’t really care.
Every person on the planet will only first care about THEMSELVES. Kind of just like you do 😛 let’s be honest.
When you see building a brand as having more people see or know you – it does NOT mean just posting a lot or running ads even. It is about being SEEN as someone who is not just a profile picture. Someone real, who takes their time to acknowledge those who make up the audience.
HOW?
1. By leaning into your magnetic brand voice (easily discoverable by looking into your Human Design – you can check out my Marketing Blueprint By Design™ here.
2. By becoming actively present on THEIR content or contributions!
👉 Always reply to comments and try to use a little more than a “thank you”, especially with those people who always support you and those people who potentially can bring value to you as a person, as a business, as a collaboration. This is how you are SEEN by them in so much more meaningful way.
👉Even more important – be SEEN on their content. Like/Love and especially COMMENT on their content. Make feel appreciated (we are all craving that instant gratification when we post anything on Facebook, so get very generous with giving it to people you want to notice you and appreciate you back)
👉 Take conversations into messenger. EVEN if you are using your business page to build that brand. Thank then for engaging, asking questions, invite to your events, invite into your groups. Start with small asks that are easy to commit to. You are planting your seeds, now water and protect them until they are strong enough to harvest.
VISIBILITY is about connection, PERSONAL BRAND is about relationships.
